Abstract

The research revolves around the importance that both oil as the main source of energy and global financial market indicators play, as they both affect and are affected by the economy in light of the interconnectedness and intertwining of all economic and financial sectors and the influence of the economies of countries with each other with the existence of globalization. In this research, we measured the impact of oil price fluctuations in global markets on the most important indicators of some developed countries, namely (the DJI of the United States of America, the Japanese Index NIKKEI225 and the European Union Index STOXX50E) for the period before the global financial crisis in 2008 to the period of economic recession in 2020 during the Corona virus pandemic. This research found that the price fluctuations of oil positively affects under study market indicators, and the impact on the US Dow Jones index was more because the United States of America is a dominant country on both sides of global supply and demand due to its possession of the largest reserve in the world as well as being the second largest importer.
