The impact of technology on EFL learners’ writing skills is a significant topic in the present time that examines how digital tools like word processors and language apps affect language learning and writing processes. Technology offers benefits, such as improved language skills and instant feedback; it also presents challenges such as overreliance on technological tools and the potential loss of original thoughts and ideas. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the positive and negative effects of technology on writing skills by analyzing the data collected through a quasi-experiment. The sample consisted of 23 students from third year at the English Department, College of Basic Education, Duhok University, who took part in this study willingly, before and after using technological tools such as Grammarly for two weeks via a writing test. In the end, the findings of this paper reveal that technology has a positive impact on students' overall writing performance.
