Like many other Kurdish myths, it carries a humanitarian , national, educational and moral message such as; love, sacrifice, loyalty and the relations of man with nature. The current study entitled "The Analysis of Motifs in the Myth of Dalal" explicates the symbols and hidden secrets used in the mentioned myth, that is due to the fact that motifs have various features. This research relies on stith Thompson’s theory "Motif-Index of Folk Literature". According to Thompson’s theory, folk narrations carry common and identical stories, these stories are called motifs.
