This study examines the relationship between crime rates and its correlation with unemployment rates in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, and it is known geographically that the Kurdistan region is located between two unstable security states, namely Iraq and Syria, and it should be noted here that unemployment rates may rise in developing countries more than their high rates in developed countries. Given that these developing countries suffer from major economic and social problems.
It is known that unemployment may lead to psychological imbalance in the individual, which will reflect negatively on society, causing social imbalance and imbalance among its members, which may lead to the commission of many crimes, and among the most dangerous of these crimes is the problem of addiction that may lead to many other crimes, Where addiction is one of the most serious crimes that threaten the security and stability of individuals and societies.
Unemployment has remained a terrifying concern that stands before the people and governments without reaching a radical solution to it, especially after globalization has become a framework that affects the whole world, any collapse or rise of the shares of a major company or a major commodity such as oil, or a change in the ruling system in a major country, all of that or a part. From it he became a guarantor of providing new job opportunities or eliminating existing jobs and exporting not a few workers to the number of unemployment.
