Using the Markov Absorption Series in the student’s academic achievement and predicting the number of graduates in the next academic stages (an applied study on students of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Duhok during the period 2010-2011 to 2019-2020)

Abstract

The interest in Markov sorption series has increased recently by researchers and these time series have been applied in different fields, as well as in special fields. And the aim of this research is to use the Markov Absorption Series to predict the student’s biography until his graduation from the university, as this method is one of the best methods used in analyzing the students’ biography during the academic stages as well as estimating the time that it takes until he graduates from the university, with the aim of linking education outcomes higher needs of society. The research also dealt with the theoretical and applied aspect of the Markov absorptive chain and then applied it to the data of the students of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Dohuk during the period between (2010-2011 to 2019-2020). The research reached many results, the most important of which is that the annual graduation rate is (95.5%) and that after an interval between three years to one year, the student is expected to graduate from the college at a rate of (68.2% to 97.8%) and at all stages in the college, in addition to The average number of students expected to graduate from the college in the next four years (2020-2021 to 2023-2024) is (1921) students.
