Energy is one of the basic inputs for all economic sectors, one of the basic ingredients and an important indicator for measuring progress and social development. Assuming that macroeconomic variables significantly affect energy consumption in China. The data of these countries were tested for the period (1991-2019) according to a methodology that allows testing the stability of these time series and joint integration, in a way that ensures the estimation of the long and short-term relationships between macroeconomic variables and energy consumption. It was found that independent variables explain a high percentage of changes in energy consumption. Also, all models did not suffer from problems of autocorrelation and heterogeneity of variance. Based on the conclusions of the study, the study suggests working on drawing up and implementing policies that would reduce energy consumption, whether through financial policies such as taxes that raise energy prices or through raising the efficiency of energy use, which in turn will contribute to reducing energy consumption and limiting its harmful environmental effects.
