The impact of manufacturing sector indicators on economic growth in China for the period (2000-2021)

The research aims to analyze indicators of manufacturing industries and their contribution to China’s economic growth, in addition to measuring the impact of these indicators on economic growth during the period (2000-2021) using the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) methodology to clarify the relationship between indicators of manufacturing industries and economic growth. The results showed stability with Taking into account the possibility of structural breakage in the time series of the study variables, they differ in terms of the degree of stability. The independent variables (value added to the manufacturing sector, labor productivity in the manufacturing sector, exports from the manufacturing sector) directly and significantly affect the dependent variable, economic growth in the short term. The short-run parameter of the independent variable, employment in the manufacturing sector, has an inverse and significant effect on the dependent variable, economic growth in the short run. The results of the relationship between manufacturing indicators and economic growth in the long run showed that the explanatory variables (value added to the manufacturing sector, labor productivity in the manufacturing sector, exports from the manufacturing sector) are significant in the long run and have a significant positive effect.
