This research aims to identify the moderate role of strategic alignment in enhancing the relationship between the requirements of strategic architecture and strategic innovation. In light of this aim, the problem of the research lays in a group of questions which are as follows: how available are the requirements of strategic architecture in the university considered? Is there any correlation and impact between strategic architecture and strategic innovation in the university considered? Dose strategic alignment play any roles in the relationship between strategic alignment and strategic innovation in the examined university? The importance of this research is to analyze the levels of strategic innovation in the university considered, to show the role of the requirements of strategic alignment in strengthening the strategic level of the targeted university, and to highlight the role of strategic alignment in strengthening the relationship between strategic architecture and strategic innovation. Three hypotheses have been proposed to achieve the aims of this study.
The inductive approach has been used for conducting this research. Data have been collected through a questionnaire distributed randomly to ninety individuals holding administrative positions in the university considered, seventy-five of them returned the filled-out questionnaires making a response rate of 83.3%.
The data were then processed using statistical software SPSS: V.22. The results of the research show that there is a correlation between strategic architecture and strategic innovation at the overall level of the responding participants, and strategic architecture impacts significantly on strategic creativity at the overall level of the responding participants. The results also show that strategic alignment contributes to enhancing the influential relationship of strategic architecture in strategic innovation at the overall level of the responding participants in the questionnaire.
The research has proposed several recommendations including but not limited to: the necessity of paying attention to strategic planning and working on developing a comprehensive strategic plan by the administration of the university considered to interconnect all of its colleges and technical institutes together through the utilization of available recourses and their common contribution to achieving the strategic goals of the university; the necessity of paying attention to strategic alliances with international institutions through the establishment of joint educational programs which can contribute to enhancing the levels of strategic innovation of the university.
