Transformative Mediation Theory is considered as one of the modern theories known in the field of peace and conflict studies. It was first formed by (Joseph Folger) and (Robert Baruch Bush) in their publication titled (The Promise of Mediation) in 1994. This theory relies on changing relations between conflicting parties via constructive integration. This depends on a couple of elements embodied into empowerment and recognition, by which the positive power of the conflict is utilized, meaning that to make the conflict a positive, and constructive point instead of its negative destructive state. On the other hand, the objective of this theory is not limited to resolve or settle the conflict, as the facilitative, narrative, or evaluative mediation, rather it goes farther towards achieving the transformative purpose in relations and changing them from their negative state to positive one. In addition, the limited role of transfer mediator in particular with regard to decisions- making related to the disputed issue between the conflict parties in which his presence is necessary to assist, direct, and then encourage the parties to change relations throughout interaction and dialogue, depending on non-apparent issues that affect positively the process of mediation and achieve its transformational goal.
