The study population consists of female workers who work in the private tourism sector, and their number is (50) women; They were chosen in a simple random way that fits with the study population; To achieve the study objectives, a set of questionnaires designed to examine the study variables was distributed.
The descriptive analytical method was used, as well as a questionnaire tool to measure the variables related to the effectiveness of the role of women and the challenges and aspirations accompanying their work in the tourism sector. The statistical analysis program (SPSS) was used to analyze the data, as well as the use of descriptive statistics methods such as arithmetic averages, standard deviations, frequencies and percentages.
The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are:
The strong low participation of women in the tourism sector is primarily due to the presence of obstacles reflected in the prevailing culture of society, such as: customs and traditions, family and society, the marital status of women, as well as the lack of nurseries, the lack of educational qualifications and practical experience necessary for what the nature of work requires. Lack of necessary training, preference for men over women in some jobs, insufficient opportunities for promotion, low wage rates.. This is in addition to what concerns the work environment and mixing with cultures with customs and traditions different from society and social and cultural norms that reject the mixing of girls of different nationalities, and prevent their presence in Places serving alcoholic drinks or working late at night and other things as required by the tourism professions.. This low percentage may also be due to the presence of many other reasons, including those related to women themselves, including those related to society and the surrounding environment in addition to the religious factor.
