Deposits of all kinds are an important tool with banks that secure them better performance for the most important part of their job of accepting deposits and granting credit, and through many studies around the world it has been proven that there is an impact relationship that goes from deposits to credit, given that deposits contribute to strengthening banks resources and give them the ability The largest is the expansion in granting credit, and this research tried to determine the extent of the application of this situation in Iraq by measuring the impact of the change in the total deposits of commercial banks on its total credit and the research relied on a time series of variables that extended for the period 2004-2019 through which the long-term effect was measured between The two variables, and then the transition was made to measure the impact in the medium and short terms through the election of two periods with monthly data for this purpose, and the research reached a basic conclusion that commercial bank deposits in Iraq did not exert a significant effect on credit they have in the three periods due to the distortion that marred the relations between Economic variables in the country, based on economic, political and institutional causes.
