Abstract

Objective: National security, public health, and employment are the main concerns for states when entering free movement of persons agreements. However, despite these concerns, these agreement are in increase and the befits they provide for states members are immense. The object of this research is to give an insight look about the impact these agreements have made on citizens movement between states. More specifically, do these agreements really have made any impact on global mobility in the time of disaster, post pandemic and on normal travelling and residence?  Methods: to answer the abovementioned question, I used the analytical method to observe and analyze regional free movement of persons agreements provisions. I also used data and to show how much impact these agreement have made on human flow. Results: free movement of persons agreements have made a dramatic change in global mobility. Despite the obstacles that states face when entering such agreements, they are crucial tools to connecting neighboring states and eventually led to economic growth. The increasing number of these agreements in the last decades is a clear proof of how important they are for regional integration and global mobility. Conclusion: so far there are more than 100 country involved in free movement of persons agreements however some region still lack of such agreement while they in need, Examples of that Middle East. I will suggest that it will have been better if we had an agreement in the region for example between Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria since they are deeply connected culturally historically and economically. These agreements are very important for states and regional development.
